Obituary

Jeffry W. Smith, of Hilltown Twp., PA, passed away suddenly Saturday, March 26, 2022, at his home.  He was 68.

He was the husband of Teresa Grace (Rogers) Smith.  The couple had celebrated their 42 nd Wedding Anniversary on June 16, 2021.

Born in Johnstown, PA, he was the son of the late James Wayne and Lois (Guier) Smith.  A 1971 graduate of Austintown Fitch High School, Austintown, OH, he attended Youngstown State University, Youngstown, OH.

Jeff was employed as the Store Manager for the Dublin IGA, Dublin, PA, from 2009 until its closing in 2022.  Previously, he worked as a Store Manager for the former Clemens Markets at 13 of its store locations throughout his career.

He was a member of the former St. Luke's Lutheran Church, Dublin, where he served on the Church Council.

Jeff was an avid sports fan, especially of baseball and golf, who particularly enjoyed attending sporting events. A softball enthusiast, he played in various leagues over the years including games at Veterans Stadium and Citizens Bank Park in Philadelphia.

He will be remembered for his fondness for gardening and grilling but, most of all, for his love for his family.

Surviving with his wife are three sons, Nathan J. Smith, of Roslyn, PA, Seann R. Smith, of Brockway, PA, and Kyle J. Smith, of Dublin; five grandchildren, Kaylee Rose, Keelan James, Evayah Lyn, Monica Elaine and Killian Jeffry; and three brothers, Thomas Smith and his wife Patricia, of Salem, OH, Michael Smith, of Austintown, OH, and Christopher Smith and his wife Teresa, of Quakertown, PA.

His Celebration of Life Service will be held on Saturday, June 18, 2022, from 3:30 to 7:30 PM at the home of his son, Nathan Smith, 1310 East Avenue, Abington, PA  19001.  This will be a casual event and anyone is welcome to attend.
