Janet Lorraine
O'Dore
March 4, 1928 – December 16, 2025
On Tuesday, December 16, 2025, the brilliance of the world became a little less bright as Janet Lorraine O'Dore (Currinder) took her light to be with the generations. She passed from the complications of a stroke in the Hospice Facility at The Community at Rockhill in Sellersville, PA. During this time, she was lovingly surrounded daily by family.
Janet was well liked in The Community by residents and staff alike with only one rule; "Don't mess with the Friday hair appointment". Born March 4, 1928 in Philadelphia, she grew up in SE Philadelphia with two older sisters, graduated from John Bartrum HS and shortly met a US Marine from Montana at a Christmas party, and six months later was married and headed West. Thus began her nomadic lifestyle an average of seven years in any one place. Came back to Philly after 2 years, another 3 years her first house in Norwood DELCO, 7 yrs later in Glen Mills, 6 years then Springfield DELCO after 8 years moved to Haverford, then off to Lewes Delaware where for the next 25 years it was Lewes and Camden Delaware. Finally, Rockhill Community for the last 10 years. When asked why so many movers; "It cuts down on the STUFF collected."
Janet is survived by her sons and their wives: James and Judith (Quakertown), Raymond and Marian (Chester Springs), Thomas and Mai (Ho Chi Minh City); five grandchildren: Kristen, Erin, Andrew, Kyle, and Sean; six great grandchildren: Samantha, Charles, Hannah, Margaret, Susannah, and Josephine.; numerous nieces and nephews scattered throughout the country; and brother-in-law George O'Dore, the sole surviving member of the James O'Dore Jr. clan.
Janet goes to reunite with her husband, Tom; sister Betty and her husband Marty; sister-in-law, Dolores and brother-in-law Leo, all of whom passed in the last five years.
The Mass of Christian burial will be held on Monday, December 22, 2025, at St. Isidore's Roman Catholic Church, 2545 W. Pumping Station Road, Quakertown, PA 18951 at 10:00 AM. No flowers, please instead, make a contribution in her name to your favorite charity or to her favorites the Mid-western Indian Schools.
