Janet Susan "Jan" Lanz, of Upper Black Eddy, PA, passed away at her home on Saturday, December 24, 2022.  She was 79.

Born in Norristown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ralph L. and Elinor E. (Emery) Lanz.  She was a 1961 graduate of A D Eisenhower High School, Norristown, PA.  She went on to earn a Bachelors of Arts degree in History from Albright College, Reading, PA.

She served in the U.S. Army from 1970 to 1972.

Jan worked in Logistics in the Trucking field for many years.  She was also an accomplished Carpenter.

She was a member of Deep Run Mennonite Church East, Perkasie, where she was active in helping people get to church if they needed a ride.  She also volunteered in the church's pre-school, reading to the children.  She was a former member of Groveland Mennonite Church, Plumstead Twp. PA.

Jan is survived by two sisters, Carol L. Weiser, of Allentown and Martha L. "Marti" Carroll and her husband Thomas, of Rehoboth Beach, DE and several nieces and nephews.

Graveside services will be held privately in Deep Run Mennonite Church East Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be sent to Deep Run Mennonite Church East, 350 Kellers Church Road, Perkasie, PA  18944.
