Janell F. Adair, of Perkasie, PA, and formerly of Marlton, NJ, passed away suddenly on Thursday, January 25, 2024, at Grand View Hospital, Sellersville, PA.  She was 84.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late James Leonard and Margaret Theresa (Johnson) Adair.

Having attained her Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration from La Salle University, Philadelphia, PA, in 1971, she went on to earn her Master's Degree in Psychology from West Chester University, West Chester, PA, in 1994.

She proudly served with the U. S. Marines from 1958 to 1962 and then with the Reserves until 1964, having been stationed in Camp Lejeune, NC, as well as Okinawa and Japan during her enlistment.

Ms. Adair was a mental health counselor, operating the Crossroads Counseling Center, Feasterville, PA, with her business partner, Rhona Case, for over 35 years until retiring in October 2023.  In earlier years, she worked as a computer programmer for PECO.

She was a member of the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama (ASGPP) where she served several terms on the Executive Council and oversaw its treasury.  Her significant contributions to the society made her a deserving ASGPP Fellow and recipient of several ASGPP Awards:  the Hannah B. Weiner Award in 2018, the President's Award in 2022, and, just this year, co-recipient of the 2024 Collaborators Award.

An avid reader and technology enthusiast, she will be remembered for her passion for helping people.

She is survived by a daughter, Janine M. Adair-Bashir, of Perkasie; six grandchildren, Rodney Bass, Jr., Rashon Bass, Cierra Bass, Cheyenne Bass, Jadin Bass and Justyce Bass; and eight great-grandchildren.

Her Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Friday, February 2, 2024, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 PM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the American Society of Group Psychotherapy and Psychodrama, P. O. Box 1654, Merchantville, NJ  08109-9998.
