Howard M. Hathaway, of Souderton, PA,  passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023, at Grandview Hospital after a long illness.

He was the beloved husband of Dolores (Guntz) Hathaway, having celebrated their 49th wedding anniversary in April.

Born near Philadelphia, Missouri, he was a son of the late Oliver L and Esther (Fenton) Hathaway.

A graduate of Marion County High School, Mr. Hathaway was a long-time custodian for the former Longacre Poultry plant, Franconia, PA, where he had worked for over 37 years before retiring in 2011.

Mr. Hathaway was a very gentle man, who enjoyed the simple pleasures in life, his vacations were often spent visiting family members across the country. He and his siblings enjoyed singing old time gospel music.

In addition to his wife, Mr. Hathaway is survived by his sons; Eric Hathway and his wife Carolyn of Springfield, PA., and Jason Hathaway, of Souderton. Brothers; James Hathaway and his wife Karen of Colorado, Melvin Hathaway and his wife Dottie of Ohio, Sister; Janice Crist and her husband Dan of Kansas, and Dorothy Livingood and her husband Don of Lancaster, PA.   Howard is also survived by 11 grandchildren. Danielle, Luke, Samantha, Michael, Kayla, Andrew, Marcus, Alyssa, Lacey, Stella, and Ava. He was predeceased by a daughter-in law, Tarra, and a brother Lawrence.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, October 5, 2023 at 11 AM in the Vincent Mennonite Church, 39 Seven Stars Road, Spring City, PA. 19475.  Family will receive friends from 10 to 11 AM prior to the service.  Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.
