Obituary

Harvey Groff, 85, of Souderton, Pennsylvania, passed away on July 27, 2024 at Brookdale Senior Living in Dublin, Pennsylvania.

He was the loving husband of Sandra (Renninger) Groff, with whom he celebrated their 61st wedding anniversary in April of this year.

Born in Telford, Pennsylvania, Harvey was a son of the late Jacob R. and Elizabeth (Uhrich) Groff.

After graduating from Souderton Area High School in 1956, Harvey continued to reside in the area, choosing a career in the Automotive industry.  In 1963, Harvey and Sandra were married.  They raised a family and while Harvey was a devoted father, he was also very involved with his position at SKF, proudly ran the automotive screw machine used for San Francisco cable car bearings.  Eventually Harvey worked with Nice Ball Bearings in Kulpsville, Pennsylvania where he retired after forty years of hard work.

Harvey's family and friends are extremely proud of his accomplishments, having been very active in his community.  In 1965 Harvey helped build a softball field in Souderton and also coached little league baseball.  Another passion of his was baseball.  He played for teams including Nationwide Insurance, Christ Lutheran Church and St. Paul's Evangelical Church where he was an active member. He was also an usher and a member of the grounds committee for the church.

Harvey was known as a 'Jack of all Trades', managing to carry out his own personal interests while he lived such an impactful life.  His hobbies included woodworking, gardening, being outdoors during the summer, playing golf, and overall, just enjoying life.

In addition to his adoring wife, Harvey is survived by three sons: Randy and his wife Lori of Pennsburg, Pennsylvania, Ronald and his wife Karen of West Chester, Pennsylvania, and Ken and his wife Lois of Perkasie, Pennsylvania.  He is also survived by five grandchildren: Zachary, Nicholas, Alexander, Jillian and Shane.
