November 1, 1935 – February 6, 2024
Harold J. "Jerry" Kuhn, formerly of Hilltown Twp., PA, passed away Tuesday, February 6, 2024, at The Willows of Living Branches, Hatfield, PA. He was 88.
He was the loving husband of 50 years of the late Carolyn Marie (Bell) Kuhn until her passing on January 28, 2013.
Born and raised on Friendship Street in the Mayfair Section of Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Harold W. and Mabel (Lobley) Kuhn.
Upon his graduation from Lincoln High School, Philadelphia, in 1953, he proudly served in the U. S. Army from 1953 to 1955.
He then met his wife, Carolyn, on the beach in Margate, NJ. They were married seven months later on March 17, 1962. The couple moved to Hilltown Township, where they built their home and he resided for 60 years.
Mr. Kuhn began his professional career working for the former Bell Telephone Company as a lineman and later in the telecommunications department of AT&T for 38 years. He then started his own business, Bux-Mont Telecommunications, Hilltown, serving Grand View Hospital and TEVA Pharmaceuticals, both in Sellersville, PA, as well as the Harleysville Insurance Company, Harleysville, PA, for 23 years. He retired in 2012, becoming full-time caregiver to his wife until her passing.
He was an active member of Calvary Church of Souderton, Souderton, PA.
An avid reader, Mr. Kuhn enjoyed fishing and target shooting. He was a Philadelphia sports enthusiast, especially of the Phillies, Eagles and Flyers. He will be remembered as a kind man with a gentle soul who served as a wonderful example of love and devotion to his family.
He is survived by his sons, Jeffrey A. Kuhn, of Ivyland, PA, and Steven A. Kuhn and his wife Donna, of Telford, PA; two granddaughters, Ashley Kuhn and her husband Jacob Lehotta, of Perkasie, PA, and Alyssa Quickle and her husband Billy, of Quakertown, PA. In addition to his wife and parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Susan Kuhn.
Services with interment in Calvary Church Cemetery, Souderton, PA, will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
