Gwen
Edwards
August 17, 1955 – March 1, 2025
Our loving Gwen Edwards, formerly of Quakertown, PA, died Saturday, March 1, 2025, in the Hospice House of St. Luke's VNA, Bethlehem, PA. She was 69.
Gwen's friendly, sincere, and creative spirit touched everyone she met. Born in Buffalo, NY, she grew up in Warminster, PA. She was the daughter of the late Owen and Wilhelmina (Heycock) Edwards. She was a 1973 graduate of William Tennent High School.
She owned and operated Gwen's Deli in Perkasie, PA. She put her heart and soul into that business, and it became a successful part of the community. After selling her business, she worked at Landis Supermarkets, in the deli and bakery departments.
She was always very creative growing up and joined her sisters in learning to sew her own dresses and clothes. Along with her brother and sisters she found so many friends while participating in Neshaminy Warwick Presbyterian Church's youth group, and also their youth choir 'The New Coalition'. In her 30's she lived in both the Philippines and Germany, embracing the opportunities that came with life abroad. While in Europe, she enjoyed skiing in Switzerland and traveling throughout Germany and other surrounding countries. It was during her time in Germany that she discovered the renowned Goebel Hummel figurines which sparked a lifelong passion for collecting them.
Continuing her travels later in life, she visited many National Parks within the U.S. Most recently she traveled to Yellowstone National Park with her son and the Grand Canyon National Park. She was continually planning future trips and was looking forward to many more.
She is survived by two children, Evan of Quakertown, PA, and Erin of Chalfont, PA; two sisters, Bronwyn Mildrum, Chesapeake, VA, and Ceinwen Souder, Souderton, PA, and a brother Owen Edwards, Brookline, MA.
A visitation will be held from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, March 12, 2025, at the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home, 33 North Main Street, Telford, PA.
