Obituary

Gertrude Elaine Milliken, 93, passed away peacefully on August 10, 2025, at The Reserve at Peachtree City, Georgia. A long-time resident of Perkasie, Pennsylvania, Trudy lived a life filled with faith, family, music, and service to others.

Born on February 15, 1932, in Silverdale, PA, she was the daughter of the late J. Edward and Ellen Nora (Kratz) Wenhold. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband of 40 years, Harold H. Milliken; her stepdaughter, Mary Louise Bright; her brother, Paul Wenhold; and her sister, Beatrice Bishop.

Gertrude was a devoted wife, mother, stepmother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, and friend. She is survived by her children: Douglas Milliken of Lansdale, PA; Daniel Milliken and his wife, Jerene, of Newnan, GA; and her stepson, Harold Milliken Jr., and his wife, Barbara, of Califon, NJ.

She was the cherished grandmother of Jennifer Bright, Robyn Swatsburg, Eloise Cortelyou, Andrew Milliken, Brendan Milliken, Jonah Milliken, Claire Milliken, and Isaac Milliken; and the proud great-grandmother of Austin, Tyler, Becca, Graydon, Lily, Natalie, Connor, Isabel, Joseph, and Nora.

She is also survived by her loving siblings, Ruth Schoeller and Robert Wenhold.

A faithful and active member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church in Perkasie for many years, Gertrude, Trudy as she was known by many, found joy and purpose in her church community. She was deeply involved in the choir, Bible study, and Sunday school teaching. She also sang with the Choraleers, sharing her love of music and uplifting others through song.

In addition to her church involvement, Trudy generously volunteered with Meals on Wheels and the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary, giving back to her community with compassion and care.

Trudy had a lifelong passion for music. She loved playing the piano and organ, attending concerts, and singing. Music brought her profound joy and was a central part of her life. She also enjoyed gardening, traveling, following politics, and engaging in thoughtful conversation.

An avid cook, Trudy enjoyed experimenting in the kitchen and trying new recipes. She delighted in preparing meals for family and friends, always adding her own thoughtful touch to every dish.

Guided by the Holy Spirit, Trudy sought to live her life in accordance with Christ's teachings, offering kindness, wisdom, compassion, and forgiveness to those around her.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
