Obituary

We share the news of the passing of our mother, Geraldine "Gerri" (Detweiler) Rose, on January 7th, 2026. Gerri was 79 years old. The words that best describe Gerri are "Family", "Love", and "Laugh".

Gerri was born on February 11th, 1946, in Telford, PA to the late Irwin S. Detweiler & Sallie M. (Minninger) Detweiler. Gerri was a sister to Doris (Roy) Price of Chalfont, the late Betty (Paul) Musselman of Telford, and Denny (Carol) Detweiler of Green Lane. She was an aunt and great-aunt to many nieces & nephews: Detweiler's, Francis's, High's, Musselman's, Price's, Clemen's, and Walsh's.

Gerri was a graduate of Souderton Area High School in 1964. In 1967, she married Victor Rose, whom she was wed until 1993. Gerri was a member of St. Paul's Lutheran Church. She was a homemaker, teacher's aide, and Eye Technician for 30 years, eventually retiring from Buxmont Eye several years ago.

Gerri possessed an indelible sense of humor, was a practical joker, and enjoyed laughing with those she loved most. She was strong, brave, loyal, and compassionate.  She was an avid Philadelphia Eagles fan and enjoyed Philadelphia Phillies baseball, which at times tested these profound qualities.

Life, opportunity, and an adventurous spirit took the family "out west" to Colorado where she made many friends and life-long relationships. Years later, Gerri moved back to Telford to be with her mother, sisters, brother and son where she remained until the time of her passing. In recent years, she was able to spend several winter months in Texas & Arizona. While with family, she could be found playing games, building memories, watching her teams, and enjoying the tv series that she watched so intently.

Gerri is survived by (3) children: Victor Lane (Elizabeth) Rose Perkasie, PA, Bradley Dennis (Penny) Rose Lakeway, TX, and Angela Lynn (Jace) Phillips Vail, AZ. Her (5) grandchildren: Jocelyn (Aaron), Alexa (Derek), Jackson, Jarrett (Tiffani), Kaden (Athena). Her (3) great-grandchildren: Nikolai, Astoria, Jace, and "Baby DeJoe" due in April 2026.

She epitomized the meaning of loving unconditionally, laughing loudly, and caring for those fortunate enough to know her. Gerri was not materialistic; she enjoyed the simple beauties in life. She gave her heart freely, her time willingly. She will be missed dearly by many, by her family most of all.

You're invited to attend the celebration of Gerri's life on Wednesday, January 14th, 2026, at St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 107 W. Lincoln Ave, Telford, PA, 18969.
