Gerald P. Kelsh, of Ottsville, PA and formerly of Springtown, Fort Washington and Green Lane, PA, passed away on Thursday, June 20, 2024 at the Country Homestead, Ottsville.  He was 90.

He was the loving husband of 64 years of Barbara J. (Jefferson) Kelsh until her passing on July 3, 2020.

Born in Staten Island, NY, he was the son of the late Patrick and Agnes (Connor) Kelsh.  A 1951 graduate of St. Peter's High School, Staten Island, NY, he went on to earn a Bachelor of Science degree in Business at Fordham University, New York, NY in 1955.

He served with the U.S. Navy from 1955 thru 1958, serving on the USS Taylor in the South China Sea.

Mr. Kelsh worked as a Life Insurance Underwriter for Allstate Insurance Company for over 33 years, retiring in 1995.

He served as a volunteer fireman for many years with the Fort Washington Fire Company.  He was also a member of the Holy Name Society, Staten Island, NY.  He enjoyed playing golf, reading and taking creative writing classes.  He especially enjoyed tinkering around his home, working on handyman projects, mowing his yard and watching the birds.  Above all else, he was a loving, dedicated and supportive husband, father and grandfather who will be extremely missed by all those who loved him.

He is survived by a daughter, Margaret A. "Maggie" Argue and her husband Glenn, of Green Lane, PA and a son, Daniel J. Kelsh and his wife Louise, of Huntingtown, MD; seven grandchildren and six great grandchildren.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Elizabeth Kelsh Tews,a brother, Thomas Kelsh and a sister, Patricia Cowan.

A Memorial service will be announced at a later date.
