Polachek
February 22, 1947 – August 8, 2022
George J. Polachek, of Hilltown Township, PA, passed away Monday, August 8, 2022, at his home. He was 75.
He was the loving husband of Peggy L. (Hartman) Polachek. The couple had celebrated their 48 th Wedding Anniversary on September 22, 2021.
Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph R. Sr. and Anna M. (Rovnan) Polachek.
Upon his graduation from Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA, in 1965, he enlisted with the U. S. Marine Corps in 1966 and proudly served in Vietnam during the Vietnam War from 1967-1968. He was honorably discharged from the Marines in 1972, having attained the rank of Sergeant with the Third Marine Division.
Following his enlistment, he attended Bucks County Community College, Newtown, PA, and later graduated from the Pennsylvania State Police Academy.
Officer Polachek began his career as a police officer with the Perkasie Borough Police Department in 1976, serving 27 years until retiring in 2003.
He was a member of Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA.
A member of the Hartzell-Crouthamel American Legion Post No. 280, Perkasie, he was also a member of the Paletown Rod & Gun Club, Quakertown, PA. An avid hunter and fisherman, he played baseball and softball in his younger years. In his free time, he loved working on his 1949 Willys Jeep.
Surviving with his wife are three sons, Jeffrey Polachek and Daniel Polachek, both of Perkasie, PA, and Joseph Polachek and his wife Lindsey, of Quakertown, PA; two grandsons, Eric and Zachary; two brothers, Joseph R. Polachek and his wife Billie, and Michael Polachek, all of Perkasie; and a sister, Theresa A. Phillips, of Perkasie. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, John Polachek.
Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
