Florence A. Moyer, formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Monday, May 29, 2023, at the Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Twp., PA. She was 97.
She was the loving wife of 51 years to Ralph G. Moyer until his passing on July 26, 1997.
Born in Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late George and Alice (Magargal) Huff.
Mrs. Moyer worked factory jobs soldering and was employed by the former AMETEK, INC., U. S. Gauge Division, Sellersville, PA, until retiring.
She was a former member of St. Stephen's United Church of Christ, Perkasie, and also attended services at other churches over the years.
She enjoyed boating with her husband on the Delaware River and Lake Wallenpaupack where they had a cabin. She also enjoyed freshwater fishing, as well as fishing in the ocean. They would take day trips fishing and crabbing at the Jersey Shore, and spent their winters at their second home in Port Charlotte, Florida.
As a young woman she helped amputee Veterans in Atlantic City, and played taps in the Drum & Bugle Corps.
In her free time she was fond of playing cards, particularly Pinochle. She was active with the Pennridge Senior Center, and enjoyed taking bus trips to the casinos. She also enjoyed watching the Phillies games on television. Her greatest joy was in spending time with her grandchildren.
She is survived by five children, Margie Moyer, of Sarasota, FL, Ralph "Bumpy" Moyer, of Green Lane, PA, Sherry Moyer and her husband Willis "Woody", of Perkasie, PA, Mark Moyer, of Greentown, PA, and Lisa Moyer and her husband Richard Kaminski, of Pennsburg, PA; nine grandchildren, Kevin Moyer and his wife Fawn, Dale Moyer and his wife Marlene, Keith Moyer and his wife Elvira, Meghan Moyer, Cody Moyer, Steven Moyer and his wife Nicole Olivarez, Jeffrey Moyer and his wife Aimee, Rikki Werner and her husband Jason, and Benjamin Kaminski; five great-grandchildren, Liv, Elena, Kylie, Tanner, and Morgan; and a sister, Caroline Childs and her husband William, of Lansdale, PA. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by four brothers, George, Warren, Rodney and William Huff, and three sisters, Alice Moyer, Annie Smith, and Sivilla Smith.
Graveside Services with interment in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, 1101 West Market Street, Perkasie, PA, will be held at 10:30 AM on Friday, June 9, 2023.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, Inc., 606 Arch St., Perkasie, PA.
