Ethel (Winnie) Kurz Murphy, 99, passed away peacefully on Monday, December 11, 2023, at The Community at Rockhill in Sellersville, PA.

She was the loving wife of William R. Murphy who passed away in 2022.

Winnie was born in Philadelphia, a daughter to Franklin and Ethel(Pehlman) Kurz. She graduated from Girls High School and went on to proudly earn her Bachelor's and Master's degrees in science from the University of Pennsylvania. She began her teaching career in elementary education in the Lower Merion School District. She continued her career teaching the children of the men and women of the U.S. Military in Germany for four years after WWII.  She completed her gratifying career as Math Specialist at the elementary level in Huntingdon Valley.

Winnie loved to travel; traveling the world with extended stays in both Germany and Australia. Most of all, she loved her family and friends..

Winnie is survived by a sister, Amy Mathy of Cresco, PA; nephews Richard Pope and Kenneth Bostwick; and nieces, Leslie Tang, and Jennifer Antoniewicz and their families. She is predeceased by a sister Ann Pope, and a niece, Suzanne Curley.

A Memorial Service will be held at 1:00 Pm Saturday February 3, 2024 in the Multipurpose room of The Community at Rockhill 3250 State Road, Sellersville, PA. 18960, Interment will be private at the convenience of the family.

In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made in Winnie's name to St. Paul's Lutheran Church, 107 W. Lincoln Ave., Telford, PA. 18969, or Rockhill Mennonite Community attn. The Benevolent Fund, 3250 State Rd. Sellersville, PA. 18960.
