Obituary

Eric James Alburger, of Oreland, PA, passed away Tuesday, January 27, 2026, at Jefferson Abington Hospital, Abington, PA.  He was 77.

Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Herbert J. and Ella Ruth (MacMoran) Alburger.  He was a 1966 graduate of Springfield Township High School, Erdenheim, PA.

A proud U. S. Army Veteran and Bronze-Star recipient of the Vietnam War, he was stationed in Vietnam during his enlistment and was honorably discharged in March 1972 after four years of service and last duty assignment with the MOC 11th Signal Group in Fort Huachuca, AZ.

Eric began his professional career as an auto parts salesman with Dumphy Ford, Northeast Philadelphia.  Later, he worked for the former C & C Ford, Warminster, PA, that was sold to the Chapman Auto Group and continued working there for a combined 20 years until retiring in 2020.

A professional progressive rock and jazz singer, Eric loved music and played the guitar.  In addition to attending music concerts, he enjoyed traveling.  An outdoors enthusiast, he was especially fond of taking walks.

He is survived by two brothers, David Alburger and his wife Terry, of Perkasie, PA, and Steven Alburger and his wife Christine, of Norristown, PA; two sisters, Ruth Bowden and her husband Charles, of Smithville, NJ, and Karen Amspacher and her husband Bryan, of South Boston, VA; and many nieces and nephews.  Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Mark Alburger.

Funeral Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
