Elsenia H. Miller, 97, of Hatfield, PA, passed away on Friday, July 24, 2026, at Gwynedd Healthcare & Rehab Center, in Lansdale, PA surrounded by her family.
Born in Telford, PA, she was a daughter of the late Warren R. Groff and Blanche M. (Hoff) Groff. She had one younger sibling, Warren H. Groff. Elsenia was the beloved wife of the late Daniel R. Miller until his passing in 2015.
Elsenia was a 1947 graduate of Souderton Area High School, keeping in touch with many of her classmates up until her death. After high school she had a variety of jobs, including a sewing position at the former Bill Blank Shirt Factory and a production line worker at the former R.T. French Co. She quit working to raise her 2 children, but as they got older, she went to work at the Souderton Area School District cafeterias, followed by the cafeteria at Hatfield Quality Meats.
In her younger years, Elsenia and her husband helped with the church youth fellowship, served on various committees, and sang in the choir for 30 years. Elsenia was active in the Eastern Star Chapter #339. She also enjoyed bowling, playing cards, bingo, fishing and eating.
Elsenia is survived by her two children Karen Aubert and her husband Rich of Lansdale, PA and Douglas S. Miller of Norristown, PA. She is survived by her dearly loved grandchildren Matthew, Chelsea and Benjamin Aubert. Elsenia is also survived by her sister-in-law Mary Groff of Mansfield, OH. She is preceded in death by her infant daughter Kim Miller, brother Warren H. Groff, and husband Daniel R. Miller.
Her family affectionately called her the “bionic woman”, as she had outlived so many of her friends and family, and continued to live independently in her own home until three weeks before her passing.
A funeral service with a viewing will be held at Christ Reformed Church at Indian Creek, 171 Church Road, Telford, PA 18969 on August 8th, 2026 at 11:00 AM. The family will receive friends from 9:30 AM, until the time of the service. Interment will follow in the adjacent church cemetery.
Arrangements are by the Sadler-Suess Funeral Home & Crematory, 33 N. Main Street, Telford, PA 18969.
