Obituary

Elizabeth M. "Betty" Barron, of Telford and formerly of Warrington, PA, passed away Monday, May 13, 2024, at the Lutheran Community at Telford, Telford, PA.  She was 82.

She was the loving wife of 58 years of the late John A. Barron until his passing on August 1, 2022.

Born in Sellersville, PA, she was the daughter of the late Paul W. and R. Hope (Kramer) Mood.  A 1960 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, PA, she attained her Bachelor of Arts Degree in Music from Bucknell University, Lewisburg, PA, in 1964.

A music teacher, Mrs. Barron taught piano lessons privately from her Warrington home for over 40 years until retiring in 2020.  She also owned and operated the Yamaha Music School, Doylestown, PA, for a period of 10 years.

A member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, PA, she was a former long-time member of the Redeemer Lutheran Church, Jamison, PA, where she served as the Choir Director for over 30 years, taught Sunday School and volunteered on the Worship & Music Committee.

Mrs. Barron sang with the Bucks County Choral Society for over 20 years.  While music was her passion, she also enjoyed arts in general and was a supporter of the Walnut Street Theatre, Philadelphia, PA.  An avid reader and shopper, she was an enthusiastic Philadelphia Eagles and Philadelphia Phillies fan.

She is survived by three children, Kathleen B. Guelzow and her husband Michael, Retired Colonel Timothy Paul Barron, D.O., and his wife Lt. Colonel Amy Jane Asato, M.D., and Judith L. Barron and her fiancé Donald Meskers, all of Perkasie, PA; seven grandchildren, Kathryn, Hope, Emma, Silas, John, Molly and Clara; and three sisters, Kathryn Jenks and her husband James, of Telford, PA, Paula Fritch, of Telford, PA, and Peggy Burt and her husband Monta, of Colorado.  In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Patti S. Mood.

Her Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Wednesday, May 22, 2024, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Pennridge FISH, P. O. Box 9, Perkasie, PA  18944.
