Eleanor J. Buehner, of Hilltown Twp., PA, passed away Saturday, September 14, 2024, at the Community at Rockhill, West Rockhill Twp., PA, just three days prior to what would have been her 91st birthday.
Mrs. Buehner was the loving wife of 35 years of the late Joseph J. Buehner until his passing on May 13, 1991.
Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Reinhold and Mary Theresa (Roesch) Widmann. She was a 1951 graduate of Hilltown High School, Hilltown, PA.
Mrs. Buehner was employed by the Myers Food Corp., Plumsteadville, PA, for a number of years until retiring. Previously, she worked as a seamstress for the former Royal Pants Factory, Perkasie, PA, and the Dublin Pants Factory, Dublin, PA, until its closing.
She was a member of Our Lady of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Hilltown, PA.
Over the years, Mrs. Buehner was very active in the community as a volunteer with the Dublin Fire Co. Ladies Auxiliary, and as a member of both the Hilltown Historical Society and the Pennridge Senior Center.
An avid gardener, her interests included sewing, cooking, painting and cake decorating. She was an animal lover, especially of her dogs. Notably, Mrs. Buehner resided on the last family-owned piece of the family's farm land.
She is survived by two sisters, Clara Emert, of Bedminster Twp., PA, and Amelia Haines, of East Rockhill Twp., PA; 11 nieces and nephews, Marlene Schaeffer and her husband Robert, Donna Moore and her husband Edward, Michael Haines, Janet Biczak and her husband Thomas, Wendy Detweiler and her husband Eric, David Emert and his wife Denise, Carl Widmann and his wife Luci, Connie Montague, Jeffrey Widmann, Timothy Widmann, and Felix Buehner and his wife Bea; a niece-in-law, Ida Emert; and many great-nieces and –nephews, and great-great-nieces and –nephews.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Herbert and Paul Widmann; a nephew, Robert Emert; and a niece, Diane Widmann.
Her Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 12:30 PM on Saturday, September 21, 2024, at Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 100 Broad Street, Hilltown, PA, where family and friends may call from 11:30 AM to 12:30 PM Interment will follow in Our Lady of the Sacred Heart Cemetery, Hilltown.
