Elaine H. McGeady, of Dublin, PA, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026, at her home. She was 93.
She was the loving wife of 49 years of the late Donald C. McGeady until his passing on December 14, 2002.
Born in Abington, PA, she was the daughter of the late Charles Victor and Elizabeth (Donaghie) Hertz. She was a 1951 graduate of Abington High School, Abington.
Mrs. McGeady served as the Admissions Administrator for Delaware Valley College, Doylestown, PA, from 1973 until retiring in 1997.
She was a member of St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, Dublin, PA, where she served on the Church Consistory.
Mrs. McGeady was a life member of the Dublin Fire Company Ladies Auxiliary. In addition to sewing, she enjoyed traveling and camping. She was particularly fond of playing cards, having belonged to a number of card clubs over the years. Most of all, she loved taking care of and babysitting her grandchildren as well as hosting family gatherings.
She is survived by four children, Richard D. McGeady, of Quakertown, PA, Donald R. McGeady, of Dublin, PA, Steven P. McGeady and his wife Linda D., of Bedminster, PA, and Karen E. Shaplin and her husband Richard, of Perkasie, PA; two grandchildren, Richard and Ryan Shaplin; a step grandchild, Jessica Martin; a great-grandchild, Remy Shaplin; two step great-grandchildren, Ralph and Rachael Martin; and a brother, Charles Victor Hertz, of Dublin, PA.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her longtime companion, Elmer Kriebel, in 2025, and a brother, Robert Hertz.
Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 10, 2026, at St. Luke’s United Church of Christ, 141 S. Main Street, Dublin, PA, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. Luke’s Union Cemetery, Dublin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Dublin Fire Company, 194 N. Main Street, Box 283, Dublin, PA 18917.
Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
