Dudley William "Doug" Winter, Jr, of Bedminster Twp., passed away on Tuesday, October 3, 2023 at his home.  He was 83.

Born in May of 1940, he was the son of the late Dudley William and Doris (Yearsley) Winter, Sr.  In 1944, his family moved to the farm in in Bedminster Twp. where he stayed throughout his life spending countless hours renovating it.

Dudley attended Union, a one room school house and went on to graduate from Pennridge High School in 1958.

He served with the U.S. Marines, spending two years on Okinawa before being honorably discharged in 1962.

Dudley married Edythe Gunster in 1969 and had two children, Sean and Jessica.  He worked various jobs leading up to a long tenure with IBM.

In his free time, he stayed busy as a member of the Jaycees and as Scout Master of the Boy Scout Troop in Dublin, where he shared his love of hiking and the outdoors with many young boys.  He was also a member of St. Luke's United Church of Christ, Dublin, PA.

Dudley had a love of dancing, chopping firewood, traveling and later in life, singing.  He fulfilled one of his biggest wishes to go to Switzerland in June of 2023.  He spent much of his spare time singing in local choirs including Palisades Community Chorus.

He is survived by two children, Sean D. Winter and wife Jennifer, of Quakertown, PA and Jessica P. Gillespie and her husband Shawn, of Pipersville; five grandchildren, Alyssa Marie, Katelyn Grace, Kayla Elizabeth, Madi Elizabeth and Zachary Anthony; a sister, Dorothy Mary Schmidt as well as many beloved nieces and nephews and his companion, Betty Traub.  He was preceded in death by two sisters, Judith Ann Paulovic and Marilyn Emily Bowers and a brother, Thomas Kenneth Winter.

His memorial service will be held at 11:00 AM on Saturday, October 28, 2023 at St. Luke's U.C.C., 141 S. Main St., Dublin, PA.
