David W. Detweiler, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Saturday, June 8, 2024, at his home.  He was 78.

Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late Clarence B. and June (Senderling) Detweiler.

A 1964 graduate of Pennridge High School, Perkasie, he earned an electronics school certificate.

He was a proud U. S. Air Force Veteran of the Vietnam War with an assignment in aircraft electronics, serving in Guam and Stateside over the course of his enlistment from 1968 to 1972.

Mr. Detweiler began his career as an electronics technician with AEL Electronics, Chalfont, PA, before his employment with Simco Electronics, Allentown, where he worked for many years until his retirement.

He was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, where he served as a Church Usher.

A member of the Perkasie Order of Owls Nest No. 1224, Mr. Detweiler volunteered as a coach for the Pennridge Little League, Perkasie,   during his early years.  He was especially pleased to have attended games during the Little League World Series.  An avid Philadelphia Phillies and Philadelphia Eagles fan, he was a bowling enthusiast and enjoyed collecting "Hess" trucks.

He is survived by two brothers, Terry Lee Detweiler and his wife Thelma, of Muncy, PA, and Jay R. Detweiler and his wife Jan, of Quakertown, PA; a sister, Janet Hillegas and her husband Arthur, of Quakertown; and a number of nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.

Family and friends are invited to attend his Funeral Services to be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, June 28, 2024, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.  Interment will follow in Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Cemetery, Perkasie.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 S. Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA  18944.
