David Richard Vieczorek, of Coopersburg and formerly of Lehighton and Ottsville, PA, passed away Tuesday, December 10, 2024, at his home.  He was 84.

He was the loving husband of Nancy J. (Suelke) Vieczorek.  The couple had celebrated their 61st Wedding Anniversary on March 9, 2024.

Born in Springville, PA, he was the son of the late Adam and Bernice (Demski) Vieczorek.  He was a graduate of West Scranton High School, Scranton, PA, and the Pennsylvania State Police Academy, Hershey, PA.

In 1961, he began his career as a Pennsylvania State Trooper with Troop M of the Bethlehem PSP Station, also working out of the Trevose, Quakertown and Dublin PSP Stations until retiring after 30 years as a Detective in 1991.

A life-long member of the Fraternal Order of Police, Trooper Vieczorek enjoyed collecting firearms and taking target practice with his son, Darrin.

He loved buying new cars as well as traveling with his wife, especially throughout the Western United States and Alaska.

Surviving with his wife are two children, Donna Laboski and her husband David, of Macungie, PA, and Darrin Vieczorek and his wife Cherie, of Coopersburg, PA; four grandchildren, Graham, Jensen, Jacob and Max; and a sister, Jean O'Boyle and her husband Edward, of Texas.  In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a son, David Alan Vieczorek, in 1983.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Franklin Heights Memorial Park Cemetery, East Weissport, PA.
