David S. Snook, 86, of Telford, passed away on Sunday April 20, 2025, at the Lutheran Community at Telford.

He was the loving husband of Betsy (Gathings) having celebrated their 62nd wedding anniversary in August.

Born in Lewistown PA, he was a son of the late Perry and Bernice (Wertz) Snook.

David graduated from West Snyder High School Class of 1956, he then graduated from Bloomsburg University and attained his master's in education from Bucknell University.

Mr. Snook was a long-time educator for the Souderton Area School District, starting his teaching career in 1962.  He shared his love of math with many students for over 35 years.  David was selected for the Teacher's Hall of Fame and received the School District's Lifetime Achievement Award. David also served as a coach for various sports and as Athletic Director, retiring in 1995. David served as the Class Adviser for the SAHS class of 1969, those with whom he kept in touch. Mr. Snook's service to his community continued when he also served as the Mayor of Telford Borough for 8 years.

Mr. Snook was a member of Little Zion Lutheran Church in Telford, where he served as part of the "Dead Heads", a group of church members who were stewards for the cemetery and church grounds.

In his spare time David enjoyed being in the community. He loved trips on gameday to Happy Valley cheering on his beloved Nittany Lions. David also enjoyed trips to Clemson SC and Lake Hartwell where he spent time with his family.

In addition to his wife Betsy, David is survived by daughter: Rebecca Guthre and her husband Michael of Harleysville and sons; Jamie Snook of Rutland VT and Dan Snook and his wife Leigh, of Dublin PA. David is survived by grandchildren, Perry, Morgan, Lauren, Nick, Gemma and Ellie.  He is also survived by a sister, Tyna Troup and her husband David of Fredericksburg, PA.

A Celebration of David's Life will be held at 12:00PM on Saturday May 3, 2025, in Little Zion Lutheran Church, 267 Morwood Road, Telford, PA 18969. Family will receive friends from 9:00AM until the time of service. Interment will follow the service in the Church Cemetery. Memorial Contributions can be made in David's memory to the Souderton Area High School Community Scholarship Fund P.O. Box 64768, Souderton, PA  18964 or Little Zion Lutheran Church Cemetery Fund, 267 Morwood Road, Telford, PA 18969. In recognition of David's love for sports, the family is asking that everyone attending please wear their favorite game jersey or team apparel.
