David R. Smith, 96, of Telford, passed away on Tuesday, October 11, 2022, at The Community at Rockhill after a brief illness.

He and his wife Doris (Wenger) celebrated their 77 ^th wedding anniversary in June.

Born in Lansdale, he was a son of the late John O. and Caroline (Stotz) Smith.

A graduate of Souderton Area High School Mr. Smith was employed in the former Philco Ford Plant in Lansdale as production supervisor for many years, after that he was employed at the former North Penn Hospital where he had worked in the food services department. Mr. Smith also worked at Generations in Souderton.

Mr. Smith was a member of Zwingli UCC, Souderton. David also served as Cubmaster and Boy Scout Troop Leader for the Souderton area.

A proud veteran, Mr. Smith served in the Marine Corps during World War II.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by Sons, Erich Smith and his wife Margaret of Telford, Kurt Smith and his wife Pearl also of Telford, Karl Smith and his wife Susan Schmidt, of Livermore CA. Gus Smith and his wife Colleen of Winter Springs FL. David is also survived by Daughters, Lynn May and her husband Frank, of Overland MO, and Jan Smith of St. Charles MO., grandchildren,  Craig (Candice), Wendi, Bethany (Hafez), Holly (John), Cheryl (Rick), David (Marci), Joy (Jon), Benjamin. David is also survived by Fourteen great grandchildren.
