"Danny" Newman, Jr.
May 18, 1938 – June 7, 2022
Daniel A. "Danny" Newman, Jr., of Richland Township, PA, passed away Tuesday, June 7, 2022, at his home. He was 84.
Born in Reading, PA, he was the son of the late Daniel "Elmer" Sr. and Julie M. (Bogdanovich) Murray Newman. He was a 1956 graduate of Quakertown High School, Quakertown, PA.
He served as a radio operator with the U. S. Army from 1958 to 1960, stationed in New York. He continued his service with the Army Reserves until 1964.
Danny was employed as an aerospace technician by AMETEK, INC., U. S. Gauge Division, Sellersville, PA, for 43 years until retiring in 1999.
He will be remembered for his love of God, Country, family, music and all creatures great and small. At a young age, Danny began performing with the Jr. Sleepy Hollow Ranch Gang. Over the years, he played with several bands as well as playing lead guitar and back-up band for the Heartlands Hayride on WDVR FM Radio.
He is survived by three children, Dawn A. Newman, of Coopersburg, PA, Justin A. Newman and his wife Kim, of Simi Valley, CA, and Danee A. Althouse and her husband Steve, of Lansdale, PA; four grandchildren, Denali Althouse, Graham Newman, Abigail Newman and Sawyer Newman; and his companion, Patricia Zidenski.
His Memorial Services will be held at 7:00 PM on Monday, June 20, 2022, at the Family Worship Center, 1000 Troxel Road, Lansdale, PA, where family and friends may call from 6:00 to 7:00 PM. Interment with military honors will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Washington Crossing National Cemetery, Newtown, PA.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Milford Township Historical Society, P. O. Box 73, Spinnerstown, PA 18968 to preserve their Sleepy Hollow Ranch memorabilia collection.
Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
