D. Allyn
Grubb
August 14, 1931 – January 7, 2025
David Allyn Grubb, "Allyn", 93, of Telford, passed away in the Lutheran Community at Telford on Tuesday, January 7, 2025. He and his wife Josephine (Florentino) Grubb celebrated their 42nd wedding anniversary in August. Born in Philadelphia, PA, he was the son of the late Charles L., and Evelyn (Bibus) Grubb.
Allyn was a graduate of Central High School of Philadelphia. Later, while raising a family and working full-time, he attended The Wharton School of Business and graduated in 1965. In 1966, he was hired by North Penn Water Authority and retired in 1997, with his last role as Comptroller. Allyn was a proud veteran serving in the U.S. Marine Corps from 1952-1955, attaining the Rank of Sergeant.
Allyn was known for his willingness to help family, friends and neighbors, and especially for getting involved in the community, such as: the Civil Air Patrol, Souderton/Telford Jaycees; Souderton Area Midget Football League; American Legion Warren Royer Post 234 Baseball League (statistician); Souderton Big Red Band Boosters; Bux-Mont Raiders Drum & Bugle Corps; West Rockhill Township Parks and Recreation Committee and Veterans Memorial project co-chair; and the Telford Lutheran Community Founders Committee. Allyn was a member of Jerusalem Evangelical Lutheran Church, Sellersville, where he served on church council, participated in the Live Nativity, and sang in the choir. In his spare time, Allyn enjoyed reading about history, listening to U.S. military music, going out to eat, watching John Wayne movies or his favorite sports teams (Penn State football, Philadelphia Eagles and the Phillies), and, of course, spending time with all of his family.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by daughters, Debra Coyle, of Drexel Hill; Judith Grubb, of Philadelphia; and son, David DeAngelis (Christa), of Doylestown; stepchildren Terri Boyd (Jack), of Bethlehem; Larry Fabian (Joanne), of Souderton, and Randy Fabian (Colleen), of Red Hill; grandchildren: Leila, Brianna, Christian, Anya, Janelle, Jaimie, Abbey, Alyssa, Erika, Elena, and great-grandchildren: Zackary and Elizabeth. He is also survived by a sister, Elizabeth (Robert) Fatzinger of Ocean Isle Beach, NC. He was preceded in death by daughter, Donna Grubb; son-in-law, Peter Coyle; and stepchildren, Ricky Fabian, and Cindy Fabian; and sister and brother-in-law Sandra and Walter Irion.
Celebration of Life Services will be held on Saturday, February 8, at 11:00 AM in the St. Paul's Evangelical Lutheran Church, 107 W. Lincoln Ave., Telford, PA 18969. Visitation will be held from 10:00 AM until 11:00 AM at the church.
