Charles Guy Smith, of Hilltown Twp., PA, passed away Wednesday, March 20, 2024, at his home. He was 64.
He was the long-time companion of Joanne P. Welch until her passing on January 8, 2023.
Born in Sellersville, PA, he was the son of the late H. Karl Smith and the late M. Joanne (Fitzgerald) Smith.
Most recently, Guy worked in maintenance for the Quiet Acres Adult Community, Sellersville, PA. Previously, he worked for the Fox Hollow Golf Course, Quakertown, PA, for over ten years. Earlier, he was employed by Schulmerich Carillons and North Penn Polishing & Plating, both in Sellersville.
He was a former member of the Jerusalem Lutheran Church, Almont, PA.
An avid outdoorsman, Guy enjoyed hunting, fishing and birdwatching. He was a member of the Almont Rod & Gun Club and the Great Swamp Fish & Game, Quakertown, PA. Guy played the guitar and was a member of several bands over the years. A motorcycle enthusiast, he was the proud owner of a Harley-Davidson. He also loved to draw and play cards. Guy loved his cats, especially "Oliver".
He is survived by two brothers, Alan D. Smith and his wife Barbara, of Eagle, ID, and David T. Smith and his wife Maria, of Sellersville, PA; a sister-in-law, Rhonda Smith, of Sellersville, PA; many nieces and nephews; a great niece and a great nephew; and his dear friend, Christine Nyce of Sellersville, PA.
In addition to his parents and long-time companion, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Christopher L. Smith, in 2013, and Michael S. Smith, in 2021; and a nephew, Kyle Smith, in 2018.
The family will receive friends during a calling period from 6:00 to 8:00 PM on Monday, March 25, 2024, at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA. Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family in Jerusalem Union Cemetery, Almont, PA.
