Obituary

Charles E. "Bud" Strawser, of Perkasie, PA, passed away Friday, January 5, 2018, at his home.  He was 85.

He was the husband of Charlotte (Goering) Strawser.  The couple had celebrated their 48th Wedding Anniversary on August 23, 2017.

Born in Perkasie, PA, he was the son of the late Charles O. and Anna I. (Snyder) Strawser.  He was a 1949 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie.

Mr. Strawser was employed as a telephone switchman for the former Bell Telephone Co. of Pennsylvania for 35 years until retiring in 1986.

He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Korean War, serving Stateside from 1951 to 1953.

Mr. Strawser was a lifelong member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie, serving in several volunteer capacities throughout his membership.

An avid hunter and fisherman, he was a member of the Branch Valley Fish & Game, Perkasie, and the Souderton-Harleysville Fish & Game.  He had a lifelong passion for boats and was an avid sailor in his retirement.

An amateur (ham) radio operator (KA3K), Mr. Strawser was a member of the R.F. Hill Amateur Radio Club as well as the American Radio Relay League.  He also was especially fond of woodworking, and he was a talented handyman who could fix anything.

Surviving with his wife are a brother, Larry C. Strawser and his wife Catherine, of Perkasie, PA; two sisters, Patricia A. Clemens and her husband the Rev. David L., of Perkiomenville, PA, and Marjorie S. Stadnycki and her husband Michael Jr., of Tylersport, PA; a brother-in-law, Charles E. Goering, Jr. and his wife Eileen, of Telford, PA; a sister-in-law, Virginia G. Hale and her husband R. Jack II, of Norristown, PA; and 12 nieces and nephews and their extended families.

His Memorial Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Monday, January 15, 2018, at Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, 19 South Fifth Street, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will be private.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to a charity of one's choice.

Arrangements are by the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie.
