Charleene Mary
Greenplate
March 10, 1948 – October 30, 2025
Charleene Mary Greenplate, of Perkasie, PA, went home to be with her Lord and Savior on Thursday, October 30, 2025, at Fox Chase Cancer Center, Philadelphia, PA. She was 77.
She was the beloved wife of David, who together shared 40 wonderful years of marriage.
Born on March 10, 1948, in Lafayette, Louisiana, she was the daughter of the late Charles F. and Gloria (Greig) Negley. She was a 1966 graduate of Huguenot High School, Richmond, VA.
A woman of deep faith, Charleene lived her life guided by love, kindness, and service to others. She had a special gift for creating beauty with her hands. Her garden was her haven – where her flowers bloomed and her vegetables and herbs flourished as intensely as her spirit. Indoors she found peace at her sewing machine, stitching together quilts that carried her love in every seam. She delighted in giving them as treasured gifts that would warm others for years to come. Her talents extended to crafting, woodworking and soap making as well. She will be remembered most for her love for her family and friends and dedication to attending their sporting events and activities.
A devoted mother, she raised four sons, and took great joy in her growing family, cherishing her eight grandchildren
Surviving with her husband David are her four sons, Robert Kitcey II and his wife Jessie, of Las Cruces, NM, Christopher Kitcey and his wife Kimberly, of Perkiomenville, PA, Kevin Kitcey and his wife Katy, of Waxhaw, NC and David Greenplate Jr., of Brooklyn, NY; her eight grandchildren, Catherine, Bobby, Cosmo, Oriyah, Keren, Kayla, Jacob and Chase; her three sisters, Gloria Ann Schuttler, of Hammondsport, NY, Rebecca King of Warsaw, NY, and Marla Annette Welch and her husband Raymond, of Wyoming, NY; and her brother, Charles F. Negley Jr., of Wyoming, NY.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by other dear family members who all welcomed her into heaven's embrace.
A Celebration of her Life Service will be held at 12:00 Noon on Saturday, November 29, 2025, at the Penn Valley Church, 320 N. Third Street, Telford, PA. The Family will greet friends from 11:00 AM to 12:00 Noon prior to the service at the Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Fox Chase Cancer Center, Office of Institutional Advancement, 333 Cottman Avenue, Philadelphia, PA 19111 or www.foxchase.org in her memory.
Her family and friends will forever remember her gentle heart, unwavering faith, and the warmth of her love – a love that continues to bloom in all who knew her.
