Obituary

Catherine M. (Finnegan) Green, 79, of Town Bank, NJ, passed away peacefully surrounded by loved ones on Friday, October 23, 2026. She was the beloved wife of Thomas R. Green, and they celebrated their 26th wedding anniversary this past August.

Born February 14, 1947, in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Kathrine E. (Short) Finnegan.

Cate was a 1964 graduate of Bishop McDevitt High School in Wyncote, PA. Following her graduation, she settled down and started her family. After devoting her life to raising her five daughters, she fulfilled a lifelong dream of becoming a nurse. She graduated from Germantown Hospital School of Nursing in Philadelphia, PA.

Though she wore many hats in her life, her favorite and the most important title was ‘mom’. Her universe revolved around her children; there was nothing she wouldn't do, sacrifice, or celebrate for them. Whether she was cheering from the sidelines of a game or offering a steady hand through life's toughest storms, her love was fierce, loyal, and unconditional. Her home was filled with laughter, warm hugs, and the constant reminder that her family came first.

After her children were grown, life surprised her with another great chapter. She met her soulmate and the love of her life, Tom, with whom she shared a deep, abiding love built on laughter, companionship, and mutual adoration. She leaves behind a legacy of devotion as both a mother and a partner. In more recent years, she enjoyed reading, watching the news, sitting on the porch drinking her coffee with Tom, and being by the ocean with her family, which was one of the greatest joys in her life.

Along with her husband Tom, she is survived by her five daughters and two stepchildren: Tracey Thompson and her husband Ted of Gilbertsville, PA; Jenifer Tomlinson and her husband Chris of Eagleville, PA; Marci Stainsby and her husband Bill of Franconia, PA; Shannon DeVitis and her husband Perry of Hatfield, PA; Meredith Cook and her husband Tracy of Hatfield, PA; and Nathaniel Green of Duanesburgh, NY and Jessica Green of Duanesburgh, NY. She is also survived by her brother Peter Finnegan of Long Port, NJ; 18 grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

A Celebration Mass will be held privately at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to Legacy of Life Foundation in her name.

Arrangements are by Sadler-Suess Funeral Home & Crematory, 33 N. Main St., Telford, PA 18969.
