Obituary

Carol Jean Miller, of Califon, NJ, passed away on Wednesday, May 27, 2026, at St. Luke’s Hospital – Upper Bucks Campus, Quakertown, PA.

Carol Jean was the beloved wife of the late Jerry Miller.

Born in 1939, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Helen Culbertson.

She was employed as a teacher in various locations for many years until her retirement.

Carol Jean was fiercely independent. She had many passions from her flower gardening, photography, and riding her horse named “Special”, as well as spending time with her beloved dog, Viva. Carol also enjoyed playing the guitar and singing. You could find her enjoying driving her sports car, a Nissan 300 ZX, she named “Phantom”. She had a love of travel and explored places including Mexico, Africa, Europe, Germany, and California. Carol Jean was very outgoing and treasured her many friendships made around the world. She was also known for driving her VW bus fondly known as the “Molly Bus” in Germany and throughout Europe where she lived for five years.

Carol Jean is survived by a son, Christian Vogt of Hatfield, PA and his wife Carlotta; her granddaughter Marla, a brother Jim Culbertson and his wife Sylvia. She is also survived by a niece Heather and her husband Paris, and two great grandnieces: Eliza and Helen. She was preceded in death by a sister, Janet Culbertson.

Funeral services will be private at the convenience of the family. Carol’s family would like to share that there are two songs that were very important to her, “Take Me Home, Country Road” by John Denver and “Don’t Fence Me In” by Bing Crosby. They hope that if you take the time to listen to these songs you will share a memory of Carol.
