Carol Ann Freshwater, 76, of Lansdale and formerly of Scott Twp, Pennsylvania, passed away Tuesday, April 11, 2023 at St. Mary's Center in Lansdale, PA. She was the loving wife of the late John E. Freshwater until his passing on October 2, 1980.

Carol is the daughter of the late Raymond R. Zediker and Inez T. Caliari Zediker.  She graduated in 1964 from Karns City High School, earned an Associate's Degree in Art and Photography from the Art Institute of Pittsburgh, and later in life, completed a Bachelor's Degree at Robert Morris College.

Carol was a woman of many talents and had a deep love for life. Her vibrant spirit shone through in everything she did, from her love of dancing and music to her passion for photography and art. But it was her unwavering faith and dedication to family that truly defined her.

Born in Chicora, PA, Carol's adventurous spirit led her to travel west to attend UCLA before returning east to pursue her education. After attaining her degrees, she went on to work as a social worker and photographer, leaving her mark on the lives of countless people she encountered.

Despite her professional success, Carol's greatest joys were found in her deep and abiding faith, and in her family. She was a devoted mother to her three children and a cherished grandmother to her beloved grandchildren. Whether admiring the sights and sounds of the ocean, drawing and painting, or simply chatting on the phone, Carol lived life with a passion and zest that was truly infectious.

Her memory will live on in the hearts of those who knew her, and her legacy will continue to inspire generations to come. As she is laid to rest in her hometown, let us honor her life and remember the beautiful spirit that she brought to this world.

She is survived by three children, Tyrone D. Pompei and his wife Eileen of Delaware, Monique D. (Pompei) Denton of Harleysville, PA, and John E. Freshwater, II of Carnegie, PA; three grandchildren, Lucas and Grace Denton, and Baylor Pompei; a brother, Kevin Zediker and his wife Susie of Chicora, PA; and a sister, Kimberly Kyriakis and her husband Sergio of Pittsburgh. In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Raymond Zediker.

Private memorial services for the family will be held graveside in Chicora, PA at a later time.
