Bertha L. "Bertie" Jones, formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Saturday, February 17, 2024, at Hidden Meadows on the Ridge, Sellersville, PA.  She was 94.

She was the loving wife of 51 years of the late Ray E. Jones until his passing on July 3, 2000.

Born on September 6, 1929, in Sellersville, she was one of eight children of the late Elmer Todd and Bertha (Kober) Stull.  A good student who loved school, she was a 1947 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie.

A homemaker, Bertie had various jobs during her career.  She worked at the U. S. Gauge in Sellersville as a typist before leaving there to raise her family.  Later, she worked at the Perkasie Elementary School as the head of the cafeteria, and, finally, she was employed by the former First Savings Bank of Perkasie until retiring.

She was a member of Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.

Bertie was active with the Grand View Hospital Auxiliary and volunteered for many years at the hospital's gift shop following her retirement.  For her dedicated service, Bertie was named "Auxilian of the Year" during the early 2000s.

A member of the Woman's Club of Perkasie, she took up tennis in her 40s and played year-round outdoors in the summer and indoors at the Doylestown Racquet Club, Doylestown, PA, during the winter.  She was especially fond of traveling with her husband on his business trips throughout the United States and Canada.  And, in her free time, she enjoyed solving jigsaw and crossword puzzles, watching M*A*S*H on television and playing solitaire on her computer.

Bertie is survived by her daughter, Tracy R. McGinty, of Center Valley, PA; her daughter-in-law, Ann M. Algeo, of Perkasie; two grandchildren, Vincent McGinty and his wife Miriam Rosenberg-Lee, and Samantha McGinty and her husband Stephen Dutton; four great grandchildren, Isaac McGinty-Rosenberg, Alice McGinty-Rosenberg, Lila Dutton and Teddy Dutton; and a sister, Janet Svoboda, of Coopersburg, PA.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Randy Jones, on September 7, 2021; a son-in-law, Vincent C. McGinty, on August 27, 2018; and siblings Pauline Yoder, Evelyn Detweiler, Geraldine Solliday, Elma Benner, Shirley Hartzell, and John Stull.

Funeral Services and interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family.
