Obituary

Arthur Blaker, of Perkasie and formerly of Warminster, PA, passed away Saturday, October 8, 2022, at Jefferson Lansdale Hospital, Hatfield Township, PA.  He was 74.

He was the long-time partner of Karen E. Ferguson.

Born in New York City, NY, he was the son of the late Venceslaus and Lorraine (Erickson) Blaker.  He was a proud alumni of Girard College, Philadelphia, PA, where he graduated from high school in 1964.

He was U. S. Marine Corps Veteran.

Arthur began his professional career in the steel industry before working in industrial design developing holding tanks for 15 years.  Then, he worked for 40 years as a truck driver, most recently for Bergey's, Inc. and earlier for Valerie Transport.

In his free time, he enjoyed mastering his mechanical skills especially on tractors and cars.  He also was fond of singing and dancing, particularly the Frank Sinatra, jazz and classic pop genre.  He loved taking trips to New York City and Broadway shows with his favorite being "Phantom of the Opera".  Arthur will be remembered for his intelligence, humor, fearless nature and story-telling but especially for his love for spending time with his family, his grandchildren and his dogs.

Surviving with his long-time partner, Karen, are five children, Lorraine Mayberry, A. J. Blaker, Amy Blaker, Timothy Blaker and Emily Blaker and her fiancé Bobby McIntyre; stepfather to Lisa Ferguson; 11 grandchildren, and a sister, Arlene.  He was preceded in death by a stepson, Richard Ferguson.

His Graveside Services will be held privately at the convenience of the family.

Arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
