Obituary

Annette R. York of Hamburg, PA and formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away on Sunday, August 27, 2023, at her home in Hamburg, PA. She was 61,

Annette was a life partner of 23 years with Neal C. Smith of Hamburg, PA.

Born in Sellersville, PA, Annette was the daughter of Raymond H. and Mary Lou (Pompei) York. Annette received her GED diploma from Pennridge High School in 1996.

Annette was of the Roman Catholic faith, at St. Agnes Catholic Church, Sellersville, PA, and other Catholic Churches in the different areas where she lived.

She enjoyed being out in nature and photography; she won first prize by the Pennsylvania Magazine for one of her pictures.  Annette also enjoyed hunting arrowheads with her father, thrift storing with her mother, and making Italian cookies with her mother often eating the hot cookies right off the pizzelle iron.

With Neal, she enjoyed fishing, hunting, riding motorcycles, and trips to Vermont to see her stepchildren. She belonged to the Civil Air Patrol, Quakertown squadron, and went on many trips with the C.A.P. to the Native American reservations to serve their communities. Annette went on a cruise and swam with the dolphins, which she enjoyed very much. She enjoyed her plants and flowers and loved to save her flowers to dry and display in vases all over her home.

She worked at Prodesco Inc., Perkasie, which later became Secant for 28 years.

She is survived by her parents, an older brother, Raymond J. York of North Carolina, a younger brother, James A. York of Perkasie PA; three nieces, Danielle York Avery of North Carolina, Kelly York Olds of North Carolina, and Ava E. York, of Perkasie; one nephew, Jakob R. York of Perkasie; seven great-nephews,  Conner R. Stickley, Austin Avery, Makih Olds, Cameron Olds, Carter Olds, Jaxon Olds, and Zhen Olds; and one great-niece; Bonnie Avery, who all live in North Carolina.

A Celebration of Life will be held on Friday, September 15, 2023,  from 3 to 6 PM, at the Perkasie Fire House, 100 N. 5th St. Perkasie PA 18944.  All family and friends are invited to attend.

Interment will be held privately at the convenience of the family at a later date.

Local arrangements are by the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA.
