Anne M.
Turner
October 21, 1935 – July 10, 2025
Anne Miller Turner, of Hilltown, PA, passed away suddenly on July 10, 2025. She was 89 years young.
Born in Abington, PA, Anne was the daughter of Marion Baum and George M. Miller, Jr. She was a 1953 graduate of Abington High School, Abington, PA. She went on to attend Erie College, Erie, PA.
Anne was married to the late Robert W. Turner who predeceased her in 2008. She is survived by her children, James Hartshorne and his wife Linda Wells, of Marshfield, Vermont, Suzanne Hartshorne and her companion, Nancy Nase, of Hilltown, PA, and Scott Hartshorne and his wife Melissa Dillon, of Las Vegas, Nevada; a granddaughter, Erica Fowler and her husband Jeffrey St. John; and two great-grandchildren, Gavin and Kendall Anne Fowler.
Anne's favorite occupation was the role of "Mom." She was committed to that role around the clock, not only to her children, but to all those who referred to Anne as their "second mother." Her love was enhanced by her amazing ability to listen, accept, comfort, worry and help in any way she felt was right. Anne's commitment and comfort was and continues to be soul healing. Her deep love extended to her beloved pets including Shadow, Oreo and her grand-dog, Tucker.
Anne's first marriage to Charles Dale Hartshorne took them by way of the Air Force from Ohio to Washington State to as far away as Turkey, moving nine times in fewer than three years. They settled in Hilltown and had three children and made many lifelong friends as they engaged in social and charitable events in the community they loved. During those years, Anne devoted her time and energy to M. M. Seylar Elementary School, the American Cancer Society, Meals on Wheels, Grand View Hospital and Deep Run Presbyterian Church. Their marriage ended after 18 years.
Anne's second marriage was to Robert W. "Bobby" Turner. They met in the mid '70s at Dembrosky's Restaurant while Anne was working. Anne and Bob then worked together at First Savings of Perkasie for several years. They enjoyed 31 years together which included late night dinners, dancing, vacations in Ocean City, celebrations with family, and cocktails with forever friends.
Anne loved her children deeply. Anne loved people, flowers, dancing, reading, watching old movies, (including 'Six Days Seven Nights'); and she especially treasured her home where she tended to her beautiful gardens and loved hosting family and friends. She made special holiday meals, experimented with new recipes, and she was known for her Apple Pie and Chocolate Cake. As much as she loved hosting at home, Anne never passed up an invitation to "go out." She was a "greeter" by nature who loved meeting and being with others: as a "hostess" at Dembrosky's, a receptionist at First Savings of Perkasie, and at Jet Upholstery where she could choose colors and match a stripe with a paisley like no other!
She was a member of the Presbyterian Church of Deep Run, Perkasie. Anne's generosity showed up daily as she provided rides, shared meals, and baked cookies for her church. Her giving heart, warm hugs, genuinely happy smile and deep love will be missed by all who knew and loved her.
