Anna M. "Snookie" Bishop, formerly of Perkasie, PA, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2025 at the Lutheran Community at Telford.  She was 97.

She was the loving wife of 66 years of Lester M. Bishop, Jr., until his passing on October 23, 2014.

Born in Perkasie, she was the daughter of the late Joseph and Lavinia (Patton) Hackett.  She was a 1945 graduate of Sell-Perk High School, Perkasie.  She went on to graduate from the Modernella School of Beauty in 1946.

Anna owned and operated Snookies Beauty Shop, Perkasie, for 28 years, retiring in 1990.  She was a member of the North Penn and Allentown Hairdresser's Association.  Prior to that, she was a "Stay at home Mom" raising her five children.

She was a member of St. Andrew's Evangelical Lutheran Church, Perkasie.

In addition to her family, square dancing was her life.  She and her husband, Lester, square danced several times a week in the Bucks and Montgomery County and Wellsboro areas.  She was a member of the former Melody Lakes Square Dancing Club.  Snookie also enjoyed traveling and camping in Wellsboro.  In her later years, she enjoyed playing cards.

She is survived by four daughters, Linda E. Oughton, of Schwenksville, PA, Susan K. Polachek, of Doylestown, PA, Judith A. Weaver, of Quakertown and Barbara J. Jansons, of Harleysville, PA; 10 grandchildren, 27 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Terry W. Bishop on July 5, 2004, a grandson, William Steltz on September 9, 2005, a brother, James Hackett and three sisters, Esther Mitman, Jenny Rosenberger and Rita Siwert.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, October 10, 2025 at the Suess-Gahman Funeral Home & Crematory, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, PA where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in St. Andrew's Union Cemetery, Perkasie.
