Allen Gordon
Spitzer
September 15, 1943 – March 8, 2022
Allen Gordon Spitzer, of Plumstead Twp., PA, passed away Tuesday, March 8, 2022, at his home. He was 78.
Born in Lansdale, PA, he was the son of the late Morris H. and Helen (Berg) Spitzer. He was a 1962 graduate of North Penn High School, Lansdale.
He was a U. S. Army Veteran of the Vietnam War, serving from 1962 to 1967 in communications and electronics.
Allen began his career in electronics, first working as an electronics technician for AEL, Colmar, PA, for 12 years. Then, he worked as a machinist for Asplundh Manufacturing, Chalfont, PA, for 12 years, and in research and development for Levr-Air, Doylestown, PA, for 13 years. Later, he was employed by New Life Youth & Family Services (later known as the Louis Mascaro Foundation), Schwenksville, PA, for over 15 years until retiring. Allen was very generous with his talents, fixing and repairing things for family and friends.
A lifelong NHRA fan, he loved to dabble in automotive repair and restoration as well as attending car shows and visiting car museums. A "do-it-yourself" guy who enjoyed watching "fix-it" shows and boxing, he was a talented key smith, clock repairman and cook. Allen loved road trips to places like the Poconos, Florida and the Ozarks. He was also fond of music, particularly listening to WXPN 88.5 Radio. He especially loved his dogs and cats, his favorite, Princess, by his side at the time of his death. He was very grateful to many friends who supported him in his last months of life.
He is survived by two children, Michael H. Spitzer and his wife Susana Fattorini, of Lansdowne, PA, and Ellyn M. Case, of Perkasie, PA; three grandchildren, Jeremiah, Brittany and Chloe Case; a sister, Ruth E. Sedei and her husband Frank, of Falls Church, VA; two nieces; and his beloved former spouse, Ruth A. Spitzer, of Perkasie.
His Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Tuesday, March 15, 2022, at the Bernard Suess Funeral Home, 606 Arch Street, Perkasie, where family and friends may call from 10:00 to 11:00 AM. Interment will follow in St. John Neumann Cemetery, Chalfont.
