Obituary

Alice E. Kachline, of Sellersville and formerly of Hilltown Twp., PA, passed away Monday, February 5, 2024, at the Community at Rockhill, Sellersville, PA.  She was 90.

She was the loving wife of 17 years of the late John J. Kachline, Jr., until his passing on July 10, 2010.

Born in Houston, TX, and raised in Sugartown, PA, she was the daughter of the late Ernest T. Jr. and Merle (Morton) Trigg.  She was a 1952 graduate of Ambler High School, Ambler, PA.

Mrs. Kachline served as the tax collector for Hilltown Township from 1994 to 2006.  After raising her children as a "stay-at-home mom", she worked in various capacities including a community representative for the McDonald's Corporation, office manager of various small businesses, and the Welcome Wagon Hostess for the Hilltown area.  She also was employed as the Office Manager for the Tupperware Co. and in the Credit Department for Central Sprinkler, both in Lansdale, before being named the Hilltown Township Tax Collector.

She was active in the community, volunteering at Doylestown Hospital in the SDS Department, and belonging to and serving as a Director of the Bucks County Tax Collectors Association.  Mrs. Kachline served on the Advisory Board of the Pennridge Senior Center and was a member of the Pennridge Youth Aid Panel.

A Co-Chair and founding member of the Friends of Hilltown Organization, Mrs. Kachline also belonged to the Pennridge Republican Scholarship Fund.  A member of the Hilltown Civic Association, she volunteered as an organizer and fundraiser for the Hilltown Kennel Club.  She also served as an organizer for the Crossman Drum & Bugle Corps, traveling with them around the country for performances.

She is survived by three children, Deborah J. Godshall and her husband Robert, of Alburtis, PA, Kathleen L. Scheetz, of Perkasie, PA, and Wayne M. Camburn and his wife Julie, of Quakertown, PA; a daughter-in-law, Mary Lou Camburn, of Riegelsville, PA; seven grandchildren, Seth Renner and his wife Lisa, Corey Godshall and his wife Samantha, Zachary Camburn and his wife Brooke, Zane Camburn, Brynne Camburn, Evan Camburn and Sierra Camburn; eight great-grandchildren, Chase, Carson, Cloey, Amara, Cruz, Riley, Owen and Hayden; a brother, Ernest T. Trigg III, of North Carolina; and a sister, Helen Eckert and her husband Barry, of Boyertown, PA.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her former husband, Edward Camburn, with whom she raised her four children with, a son, Bruce E. Camburn, a grandson, Christopher Camburn and a son-in-law, Frederick Scheetz.

Family and friends are invited to attend her Funeral Services to be held at 10:00 AM on Friday, February 16, 2024, at the Wayside Chapel at Whitemarsh Memorial Park, 1169 Limekiln Pike, Ambler, PA  19002.  Interment will follow at 11:00 AM in Whitemarsh Memorial Park Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Pennridge Community Center, 146 East Main Street, Perkasie, PA  18944.
