Alice M. Detweiler, formerly of Bedminster, PA, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, September 5, 2022, at the Souderton Mennonite Homes, Franconia Twp., PA.  She was 90.

She was the loving wife of Elmer W. Detweiler.  The couple had celebrated their 70 ^th Wedding Anniversary on June 7, 2022.

Born in Bedminster, PA, she was the daughter of the late Henry W. and Aquilla (Miller) Alderfer.

A homemaker, Mrs. Detweiler had also worked as an assembler for the former EMICO Co. at its Bedminster and Dublin, PA, locations for a number of years.

She was an active member of Deep Run Mennonite Church East, Perkasie, PA, where she volunteered with the funeral luncheons, prepared food for the Thousand Villages project and taught Summer Bible School.

Mrs. Detweiler will be remembered for her culinary talents that included cooking, baking, freezing and canning.  A camping enthusiast, she also enjoyed sewing, quilting and tending to her garden.  And, for many years, she served as a volunteer with the Care & Share Thrift Shoppes, Souderton, PA.

Surviving with her husband are six children, Glenda J. Moyer and her husband Glenn, of Brendon, IN, Terry E. Detweiler and his wife Marti, of Troy, PA, Shirley L. Marlin and her husband Lewis, of Towanda, PA, Kathy M. Walker and her husband David, of Cincinnati, OH, Mark D. Detweiler and his wife Sandy, of Pennsburg, PA, and Eric "Rick" J. Detweiler and his wife Wendy, of Bedminster, PA; 22 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a grandson, Nicholas A. Marlin in 2011; two brothers, Claude and Willard Alderfer, and six sisters, Grace Scheetz, Mary Rice, Miriam Detweiler, Pearl Freed, Florence Alderfer, and Elizabeth Myers.

Her Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 AM on Friday, September 9, 2022, at Deep Run Mennonite Church East, 350 Kellers Church Road, Perkasie, PA, where family and friends may call from 9:30 to 11:00 AM.  Interment will follow in Deep Run Mennonite Church East Cemetery, Perkasie.
