Pre-Arrangements
Pre-Planning a funeral is becoming more and more popular and in some cases a requirement. When pre-arrangements are made all the information is gathered and the desired services are planned as if the service is currently taking place. That information is then filed for future use. When the death does eventually occur, this information is then referenced. Services can be kept exactly as planned, or modified to fit the current circumstances. At that point it can be as easy as saying we'd like the service to be this day and time and everything else will be taken care of.
Planning ahead takes the emotional stress out of the situation and lets the consumer take more time to think over decisions. The services can also be paid for ahead of time. Not only does this purchase a future funeral at a current price, but with today's cost of skilled nursing facilities, funds can be depleted very quickly. When a funeral is pre-paid the funds are placed in an interest-bearing, individual, irrevocable burial account in the beneficiary's name. No matter what happens to the funeral home, the original plan is established. Or, if the person moves, the funds will always be in their name, only able to be used for burial purposes. Additionally, funds placed in an irrevocable account cannot be taken by the state or any care facility, and cannot count as assets when applying for Medicaid.
At any time a no-obligation appointment can be made to discuss desires in further detail.
