Arrangements

Although pre-arrangements are becoming more and more popular, most deaths occur without any pre-planning. Don't let this concern you, this is what we do everyday. There are decisions that will have to be made, but we will walk you through the process step-by-step. When someone dies there are numerous questions that are asked. What do we do now? Who takes care of the remains? What type of services should we have? Should we have a viewing? Where should the service be held? How do we contact the cemetery? How do we pay bills? Etc., etc. The list could go on and on. That is what the funeral director is for. One call to the funeral home and everything that needs to be done is addressed and all questions you may have will be answered. The main way this is accomplished is through the funeral arrangement conference.

Once we are notified of an individual's death, we will set a time for the arrangement conference. The funeral arrangement conference is where the Next of Kin and their support network will meet one-on-one with the funeral director and go over every aspect of the process. The arrangement conference should happen as soon as possible after the death before too much planning is done. There are many logistices involved in coordinating the funeral service and burial, and it should be the funeral director's responsibility to see to those details. It is at this conference that we will walk you through all that needs to be done – the necessary legal requirements, explain your options and costs, and answer your questions. more...
